Greg’s Grill is in the landmark Old Mill District. It is a large, woodsy-chic restaurant overlooking the Deschutes River.

In the spring of 2007, Greg and Teresa Hubert opened Greg’s Grill. Their lengthy history in the restaurant business and love of excellent service and food led them to build a stunning restaurant that shows their high standards and dedication to detail.

The area to sit inside this restaurant is very nice, big, open, and has excellent views. When it’s warm outside, it’s great to eat at a table outside. And even though the seats in the bar area are amazing, you still need to check in at the front desk.

It has high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful views of the Deschutes River and the Cascade Mountains. Greg’s Grill is also close to art galleries, theaters, shops, and bars, making it a great place to remember a special event or a romantic date.

Greg’s is a holy grail in the Old Mill neighborhood of Bend. We’ve been here several times, and each time is just as good as the last.

Last time we ate here, our main dish had sesame-seared ahi tuna, cucumber seaweed salad, wasabi cream, sake soy glaze, pickled ginger, and citrus-infused rice. The amount of ahi was significant, and the fish was delicious—it was perfectly seared, buttery, and had a nice crust. We loved that they gave us a lot of pickled ginger and a significant bit of sauce.

Greg is one of the overall best restaurants in Bend Oregon. If you choose this spot, you’ll always leave full and happy.

It is a sustainable business; almost all the food it sells comes from Central Oregon farmers and craftspeople. Guests can enjoy a variety of savory and sweet dishes in a charming, homey atmosphere. The restaurant has a garden that adds to the natural atmosphere.

David Touvell, the executive chef, makes tempting dishes, like the “hippy dippy” sandwich, with roasted, pickled vegetables, house-made cheese, and olive tapenade on house-made bread. The restaurant is also happy to make dishes that are raw, vegan, or free of gluten.

We actually found this place by accident and LOVED it. The waitress and hostess worked the whole restaurant and couldn’t have been more excellent or friendly.

The fried chicken sandwich was one of the best parts of our whole meal. It has a truffle slaw, thin apples, and maple butter, which tastes fantastic. We couldn’t stop eating it!

Even the corn beef hash was so tasty. The shrimp Benny was delicious; they’ll love the pancakes if you’re with kids. We also got the homemade compote, which went well with the pancakes. The sides were great, but the roasted potatoes with balsamic glaze were our favorite.

At 5 Fusion, we had a perfect sushi dinner. We also split a Steve McQueen roll, which was super fresh – featuring macadamia nuts and coconut, it had every kind of texture. It was just such a great combo!

For the best food experience, try Korean ribs. It tasted like ribs over hot coals.

This place is popular, so you should call ahead and make a reservation before you go.

It is the perfect spot for a lovely meal for two or a special occasion because of its soft lighting and stylish decor.

Meat and seafood lovers will love the menu, which has delicious dishes like wild halibut on the bed of chorizo-saffron risotto with red onion and roasted red pepper additives. The menu also offers signature dishes like Mac and Cheese flight, crab corn dogs, Shrimp and Grits, and a 24-ounce bone-in Ribeye Tomahawk, which is the best.

Fostered bananas split is one of the desserts, and the full-service bar has a long list of craft beers, wine, and cocktails.

Whenever we want to enjoy a nice steak dinner, we head straight to Blacksmith. It really can’t be beaten!

During out last night out, the Garlic Truffle Fries, Beet Salad, and Poke were the first things we tried. All of them were great, but the Beet Salad was especially surprising in how tasty it was.

After a few refreshments, we ordered numerous main dishes, including the Tomahawk Steak of Mashed Potatoes. Of course, we all ate it, and it was just right.

Overall, Blacksmith is a great place to go for fine dining. It’s one of the best restaurants in Bend Oregon for a date night.

The restaurant has a gorgeous outdoor deck and bars, seating up to 200 people. Two private dining rooms with French doors are also great for small parties and romantic getaways.

There is something on the seasonal menu for everyone, including kids, vegetarians, and people who can’t eat gluten.

You can order cocktails, beers, and wines from a list that has won awards. Many of the wines are from central Oregon.

Some of their best main courses include Sockeye Salmon and Grilled Beef Short Rib. You can also get a dessert if you want something sweet to end your meal.

The Oregon Board and the deviled eggs were both excellent, and we usually share them. But the main courses are what impress us. Last visit, we all tried the shrimp risotto, the sockeye salmon, and the duck confit.

We tried three desserts, but the chai mousse was our favorite. It was the most popular dessert among the tart and the mousse.

7. Bos Taurus

163 NW Minnesota Ave, Bend, OR | American, Steakhouse | $30 – $50 | Wednesday and Thursday 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm, Sunday 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Bos Taurus is a great place among the best restaurants in Bend Oregon, because it serves prime cuts of beef worldwide. It has A5 Wagyu from Japan, Wagyu from Australia, and beef from the best farms in North America.

The restaurant is all about the beef, but there are also great seafood and vegetable options for those who want something different. There are several world-class steaks, homemade pasta, fresh seafood, vegetables, and sides that are not beef on the menu.

The inside has a modern, industrial feel, but that’s just the beginning. The top-notch service and perfect products make it a truly unforgettable experience.

Located right in the middle of downtown Bend, this restaurant features an industrial-style decor, an open kitchen with a specially made cast-iron searing slab, and soft leather seating.

During our last visit, we had some appetizers and steak. The pork cheeks were an excellent way to start the meal. It’s so good that it begins to melt in your mouth. It also comes with a bed of risotto and some cabbage on top.

We got the petite filet mignon as our main course. The outside was crispy where it should be, and the inside was just right. Seriously: this was the best filet mignon I’ve had in a while.

If you like mezcal, try the Me Llamo Monica drink. It tastes like a mezcal-based margarita.

Overall, this is one of our favorite Bend restaurants when we’re in the mood for good steak with some other veggie options that are equally as yummy.

6. The Dogwood Cocktail Cabin

147 NW Minnesota Ave, Bend, OR | American, Spanish | $11 – $30 | Tuesday to Sunday 5:00 pm – 12:00 am (next day)

The Dogwood Cocktail Cabin is a cozy restaurant in the heart of downtown Bend. It has a woodsy-chic style and serves creative, modern New American food and craft cocktails.

It is one of the best venues in town to try signature cocktails made by master mixologists and listen to music played by resident DJs.

Dogwood Cocktail Cabin serves creative cocktails and small plates like spring risotto, steamed beef dumplings, coconut shrimp, and crispy Brussels sprouts.

The place is also nice because it has a room upstairs with some tables and dartboards. It has art, taxidermy, and unique vintage store finds all over the building, giving it a fascinating and eclectic look.

We got the dog-food appetizer, a fancy popcorn when we went to this place. It was hard to stop eating, and it made a great snack. Next came the juicy, medium-rare beef sliders of bacon jam. Take nibbles of the Fried Mac with apple slices or arugula, and it will go well together.

If you’re hungry, the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Smoked Fried Chicken are excellent choices and will help you feel full.

But the best thing about this place is the drinks. Bluebird and Bee Sting were the drinks we tried. The better was, without a doubt, the bluebird. Bee sting felt like a bee had stung your throat. Stay away from this if you don’t like spicy food at all.

We recommend this one if you’re in Bend and searching for a place to eat and drink. This is one of our favorite cocktail bar-restaurants combos in Bend!

5. Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails

We got a good table in the back, giving us space, and the waitress took our order quickly. Then we got two of their drinks to start the night, and we liked the pepper passionfruit margarita. We don’t usually order this, but it was a nice change and had a spicy kick.

As an appetizer, we got the barbecued shrimp, which everyone seemed to get. For the main course, we get a filet. It was cooked just right, had a fantastic pepper coating, and tasted great with the sauce.

This is overall a great spot!

In 2009, Spork started as a mobile kitchen. In 2013, it became an actual Bend restaurant. Lunch and dinner, this casual restaurant serves a wide range of tasty dishes with flavors from around the world, such as Latin America and Asia.

This quirky, lively restaurant started as chef-owner Jeff Hunt’s Airstream food cart in the 1960s. Hunt gets its ingredients from nearby places and works with local farmers. This upscale but affordable restaurant is a great place for a dinner date or to meet up with friends before going out in downtown Bend.

Spork has become a cornerstone in Bend’s restaurant scene, thanks to its delicious spicy fried chicken and creative twists on iconic street foods, like Burmese fried cheese of tomato curry. You can also choose from a range of classic and original cocktails.

What makes this one of the more unique Bend restaurants is that you wait in line to order your meals, then sit, and they carry them to you. You can’t hold a table and wait in line simultaneously.

We came here because of the stylish dining room and the lovely and pricey outdoor dining areas. Plus, we love how it’s one of the more casual restaurants in Bend when we’re not feeling fancy.

During our last visit, we ate carnitas Sando, spicy pork noodles, and yucca chips. Everything was tasty and a lot of fun. Inside, it’s very cool, and good music is playing.

3. The Sparrow Bakery Northwest

2748 NW Crossing Dr #110, Bend, OR | Bakeries, French, American | $10 – $30 | Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am – 3:00 pm

The Sparrow Bakery opened in 2006 and is a cozy place where you can get various home-baked goods.

It has two locations: one in Northwest Crossing and another in the St. Johns neighborhood of Portland. The bakery is accessible for orders to go, and you can now order delivery ahead of time.

Ocean rolls, which are of buttery pastry dough sprinkled with cardamom, sugar, and vanilla and then rolled and baked, are the bakery’s most popular item. Other treats, like Parisian macarons, coconut pastries, and baked goods, are also available.

Additionally, there are breakfast and lunch menus with dishes like the bacon breakfast sandoh, a croissant with a poached egg, smoked bacon, avocado, and arugula aioli.

We went here for breakfast, and there was already a line at the door, so we knew it was a popular place.

We chose their Monte Cristo sandwich. The Monte Cristo at Sparrow is crunchy because they make their miche bread. It is undoubtedly not for sensitive gums. We liked the salty-sweet balance when overloading the sandwich with turkey.

Before you go, make sure to try their delicious chocolate croissant.

Have we mentioned that this restaurant featured a small patio with a few tables? Both dogs and kids were welcome there. They also have a station where you can bring your dishes and a self-serve water station.

It’s an excellent place to get breakfast in general and is definitely one of our favorite breakfast restaurants in Bend Oregon.

The owners have been so successful because they treat their clients like family. Locals and regulars are immediately recognized and greeted warmly; even if it’s your first time there, you’ll feel at home.

The restaurant is open every day and has a bakery that makes muffins, cinnamon rolls, scones, sticky pecan buns, and desserts, among other things.

Diners can enjoy tasty breakfasts like McKay Cottage potatoes, bacon, ham, tomatoes, and green onions scrambled with eggs and finished with cheddar cheese (a vegetarian substitute is also available).

Try the zesty crab melt, red crab salad, white cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and avocado on slices of Parmesan sourdough bread for lunch. There are also cocktails and wine for brunch.

Last time, we got the special, which consisted of a hash of steak, onion, and pepper with chipotle hollandaise, a side of berries, and a side of the usual hollandaise. It was delicious! Their hollandaise is smooth and tangy, while the chipotle version is spicier. The poached egg had a beautiful, creamy yolk, and the cheese brought everything together.

The fresh berries and melon were the biggest surprise. They were so sweet and crunchy, a nice change from the savory breakfast. Delicious!

Of course, the service is always excellent. This is one of our favorite brunch/lunch restaurants in Bend Oregon that you won’t want to miss!

1. Ariana Restaurant

Seating is limited, so getting a reservation is a must if you want to dine here. It’s definitely one of the trendier, more unique restaurants in Bend Oregon that is super popular.

The umami-bomb jus and herb Foccacia we had as an appetizer set the mood for the remainder of the meal. From there, every dish was better than the last.

We thought the scallop with celery bisque would be the best part of our meal because it was one of the best things we’d ever eaten. But the filet with mushroom sauce, crispy mushrooms, and marinated mushrooms was way over the top!

We chose the wine pairing, which was great, but you could also get cocktails.

Even though this is one of the more expensive restaurants in Bend Oregon, you get a lot for your money here. And that’s why Ariana is a beautiful destination in Bend that you definitely can’t miss!
